Media focus on Africa
This African development organization based in Nairobi (Kenya), creates new media, workshops, TV series, concepts and organizes media tools around political changes in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. Goal to empowerment the African people and there process to democracy.
After a couple of years there was a need for a new logo and a new corporate identity that would fit the current media world. The old logo, that was still loved by the director, had much difficulty when printed in Africa and was not good visible when used small. Starting the assignment there was one wish: use the “character” of the old logo.
I redesigned the logo and used the “character” also for the corporate identity concept that was based on “MEDIA focussing on Africa to enlarge the empowerment and democracy of the African people.” It resulted in a visual strong icon that was based on this focussing and the process of spreading and informing.
The continent of Africa is well known from it’s wide range of colors and we can say that compared to Africa we life in a grey world. This is the reason that I wanted the relate to Africa by using different colors in the corporate identify. Two color variations are made the “core” colours of the organization and are used on the compliments card, business cards, writing paper, envelopes etc.
